The Bristol A chassis was built by Bristol Tramways and Carriage Company Limited with bodies by Bristol, Roe and Short.  The A was produced between 1925 and 1928.

There were various types of A's developed:

  Bus (Double Deck) H26/26RO, H28/24RO, H48RO,H50R  
Bus (Single) FB32F, B36R
Horsebox  

They were powered by an Bristol 4 cylinder petrol engine. 

There were 23 Bristol A's built. The A's were delivered to the following operators:
